Our Vatican Tour will take your family through the most famous and impressive art museum in Italy. The Vatican is known throughout the world to be the home of the Pope and also as a museum containing a collection of paintings and art from some of history’s most famous Italian artists – Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo, and Caravaggio, just to name a few.
On our tour you’ll not only see this impressive collection but you will also have access through a special shortcut passage from the Sistine Chapel to the Basilica of St. Peter’s. Here you may see the Swiss Guards protecting the entrance to the holy staircase of the previous Pope’s residence.
Currently the Pope lives in an apartment that is separate from the museum and church that is not possible to be seen by the general public. At the old apartments he uses this area instead for meetings with ambassadors and other special dignitaries of the world
The itinerary of our Vatican Tour will show you the most famous and interesting highlights of the Vatican museums (including the courtyard with the giant pinecone!), the Rooms of Raphael, Michelangelo’s famous Sistine Chapel ceiling and sculpture of the Pietà, and St. Peter's Basilica.
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required in order to reserve this tour. This does not guarantee availability, especially during high season. At least 2 weeks notice or more is recommended.

DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSFER FROM THE HOTEL OR THE AIRPORT?
Yes, over the years we have arranged private transfers in comfortable air-conditioned minivans fully equipped with what a family needs with pick up from the hotel in and outside Rome. We also pick up from the airports or the port of Civitavecchia if you disembark with a cruise ship.

HOW MUCH IN ADVANCE IS PREFERABLE TO BOOK?
The licensed guides that are good in touring with kids are not many and in high season they might not be available last minute. It is always preferable to book well in advance at least 4 weeks.

CAN WE PAY BY BANK TRANSFER OR CREDIT CARD?
Yes, we accept both. If you travel from oustide the European Union credita card fees might be cheaper than banck transfer.

CAN THE TOUR BE CUSTOMIZED?
Yes, most of our tours in Rome are private tours so we can customize the starting time, the lenght and the attraction visited on your desires and needs. We will suggest you our best options and we decide together.

IS THE TOUR SUITABLE FOR KIDS BELOW 5 YEARS OLD?
kids below 5 years old are welcome and they can definetely come along with a stroller as well. However, the tour is great for children aged 6 and above. Of course the guide will customize the tour based on your kids age. If they are teenagers they will have a different tour than if they are below 10 years old.

CAN WE BRING BACKPACKS ON TOUR?
Vatican authorities are very strict with the use of backpacks. Sometimes some distracted visitors hit the artworks with them. Thus, they require you to check them in at the entrance locker rooms of the museums. This is not convenient because you have to walk all the way back after the tour ends to collect them. We suggest not to bring them. Bring a small purse or simple bag. Also do not carry umbrellas on tour.

WHAT IS THE DRESSING CODE FOR THE VATICAN?
In some areas of the Vatican a special dressing code is required: shoulderd and knees must be covered or you will not be able to access.

WILL THE TOUR TAKE PLACE WITH RAIN?
The tour takes place with rain or shine. Much of the tour is also indoor, inside the Vatican Museums or the Basilica of Saint Peter.
