Then, we will take a moment to see the Begijnhof a medieval inner courtyard where the women of the Catholic sisterhood lived and discover how this unique institution had survived during the 16th century, when the catholic religion was banned in the Netherlands. Next, we will reach the Spooksteeg, Ghost Alley in English, and delve into the legend of the oldest ghost in the city, a woman from the 18th century named Helena.

After walking through the medieval area we will visit the different side of the city - Zeedijk, also known as the Chinatown of Amsterdam. Here, surrounded by Asian markets, restaurants and shops, you can feel the authentic atmosphere of Eastern cultures and you will be also surprised to find the street signs in Chinese as well as Dutch. Your guide will entertain you with fun historic facts about this area and introduce you to its main attraction - the Buddhist temple.

At the end of our tour we will see the Royal Palace of Amsterdam, one of the three palaces still used by the Royal Family. You will enjoy its stunning architecture and discover fascinating stories about Dutch kings and queens who still receive important guests here.
