Tour description

Deep Underground Rome contains the secrets of the ancient city’s remains from layers of a long and varied history. There are special places throughout the Eternal City where these layers can be revealed and on our tour we will take you to see the relics of ancient ritual spaces, dwellings of the early Romans, engineering marvels from early periods of the great Roman Empire, and the changing façades of Catholicism in Rome.

An excellent tour around the capuchin crypt and some important basilicas. Giorgia was excellent, great with kids and very knowledgeable. She answered all our questions, was very patient and understood when the kids needed to move on. Definitely recommend.

We take your family through the most famous and interesting sites of Underground Rome to teach the historical significance of the early periods and also other sites that relate them back to modern Christianity and the society of Italy today.

Our itinerary includes the decorative Crypt of the Capuchin friars, the Church of St. Clemens (visiting 4 subterranean levels!), the Holy Steps, the Church of St. John in Lateran, and more.
