A tour of the National Gallery might be the last place you would think of to take your kids whilst in London, but ……..think again!! This tour has been specifically designed to appeal to families with children and we are confident that all the family will enjoy this stimulating and educational visit.
This is a tour specifically tailored for children but with the services of a specialised guide all of the family will be taken on a treasure hunt through one of the most beautiful and impressive art museums in the world. The guide knows how to keep children totally engaged so that you can also enjoy taking in the cultural delights of this must-see venue whilst on your trip to London.
We were somewhat nervous but the tour guides, John and Elizabeth, were great comforts. They showed us all the sights that we had dreamt of viewing for so long, and explained in depth about them. Our children were not bored and they were very excited to be able to participate in a tour of a place so unlike anything they had ever seen before.
The National Gallery houses one of the greatest collections of Western European artwork and we will ensure you see all of the most significant and popular works of art by such masters as Botticelli, Dürer, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Rubens, Rembrandt, Degas, Cézanne, Monet, Van Gogh and more.
The National Gallery’s collection features over 2,300 works of art and includes paintings from late medieval times to Italian Renaissance and the French Impressionists. In total the collections span several centuries and are housed in this marvellous building fronting Trafalgar Square.
With some much to see in one place you can be forgiven for feeling “over-stimulated”. However, we have managed to design this tour so that it is fun and enlightening. We take all of the family on a treasure hunt through the museum ensuring that the young minds especially are kept focussed and engaged at all times.
